Autism-Friendly
race days at racecourses across the UK
Educating and raising awareness about autism in the horse racing industry
Autism in Racing is a ‘not for profit’ Community Interest Company set up to support and encourage people with autism to enjoy horse racing as a spectator or employee.
We aim to help people with autism; adults as well as children, to take part in social and supporting activities linked to the national horse racing sport.
Autism-Friendly Race Days
We provide sensory rooms at racecourses with trained staff who host an autism friendly race day.
There is a calm environment and sensory space with specialist care available for people who find a day at the races getting a bit too noisy and crowded so that they can take time-out.
Ambassadors for Autism
We promote our work nationally to raise awareness and understanding of autism throughout the horse racing community.
We are delighted that Champion Jockey Will Buick is our Ambassador.
Employment Support
We work to create opportunities for people with autism to access employment, volunteering and other opportunities within the horse racing industry. This could mean jobs in the stables, racecourse, ground staff, trainers, stud farm or breeders’ yard, farrier, catering, hospitality, the list is endless….
